Abstract—Various educational initiatives of Russian
government make the study of the state educational policy
important in recent years. The report shows the main principles
and the organizational base of the state policy in education,
reviews its positive moments. Special attention is paid to the
state initiative of building the new system of education. In
addition, the report shows few controversies in the state
educational policy that gives a rise to public discussions in
modern Russia.
